Oakland A's right-hander Kendall Graveman was 12 starts into the season and was searching for answers. "Curt came up to me and said, 'You got to find what works for you, what makes you have a chip on your shoulder, what's going to lock you in,'" Graveman said. Graveman said he remembered how locked in he was in 2014, when he visualized his pitches before every game and rocketed through the Toronto Blue Jays' system, earning five promotions and finishing the season in the major leagues. Steve Pearce had an awkward moment Saturday night in Oakland. As you may or may not have heard, Steve Pearce of the Tampa Bay Rays was nearly caught in an unenviable position on Saturday night. As it so often does, nature called in the midst of Tampa’s 4-3 loss to the A’s, and Pearce had no choice but to answer. Conveniently, or so you’d think, there happens to be a bathroom in each of the dugouts at The Coliseum in Oakland. That meant Pearce didn’t have to run down the tunnel or back into the clubhouse. The Padres traded Hahn to Oakland after the 2014 season. Continue to Article

Ryon Healy was so focused on getting to second base the Athletics rookie didn't realize he had hit a game-ending home run until he looked up and saw third base coach Ron Washington celebrating. After that, the Oakland third baseman slowed up his trot to allow the players in the bullpen to join the fun. Healy homered with two outs in the ninth inning two batters after Jake Smolinski tied it with a two-run homer, and the A's rallied past the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 on Saturday night. Continue to Article
