The Miami Marlins and New York Mets enjoyed perhaps their most memorable victories of the season Sunday. The Mets remained in second place in the National League wild-card standings with a 14-3 rout of the Chicago Cubs that capped a four-game sweep of the team with baseball's best record. Conley pitched six strong innings and the Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves 5-2 on Sunday night in a game played in a temporary ballpark on a U.S. Army post. In an attempt to honor military members, the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves played a game at Fort Bragg military base Sunday night. It was the first time ever a baseball game was played on an active military base and, because of that, tickets were limited to Department of Defense employees and their family members.
