Baltimore Orioles
Most people might not, but on Wednesday at Fenway Park several fans dared to try, and Hanley Ramirez granted their wish. It was the bottom of the fourth inning of the Baltimore Orioles-Boston Red Sox game, and David Ortiz was at the plate taking hacks against Orioles reliever Odrisamer Despaigne. Hanley Ramirez was in the on-deck circle, where most players prepare to hit and take some practice swings. Continue to Article

Baltimore Orioles
Welcome to The Walk Off, the nightly MLB recap from Big League Stew. Here we'll look at the top performers of the night, show you a must-see highlight and rundown the scoreboard. First, we start with a game you need to know about.   Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman became the first major-league player to hit for the cycle in the Braves wild, 9-8, 13-inning win against the Reds on Wednesday night. Freeman needed the extra frames to complete the feat. He was single shy leading up to his at-bat in the 11th inning, but ended the drama by lining a clean hit to center field. Freeman took a preferred path to the feat, getting the more difficult hits out of the way early. He doubled in the third inning, tripled in the fourth, and then hit a solo homer in the sixth. Oddly enough, despite his performance and the score, the home run would mark his lone RBI.  Freeman also another single taken away by replay in the 12th inning, so it's a good thing he completed it when he did.   Freeman first #Braves player to hit for cycle since Mark Kotsay on Aug. 14, 2008 vs. Cubs. — David O'Brien (@DOBrienAJC) June 16, 2016 Continue to Article

Boston Red Sox
On May 31, Eduardo Rodriguez came off the disabled list and beat the Baltimore Orioles -- the team that traded him away in 2014 -- in his 2016 debut. Thursday night, the young left-hander, who has had two poor starts since, looks to beat the O's again and pitch his Boston Red Sox back into sole possession of first place in the American League East. Rodriguez, acquired by the Red Sox in the trade deadline deal that sent Andrew Miller to Baltimore, failed to beat the Orioles in three starts last season but then worked six solid innings for the win after coming off the DL.
