Colorado Rockies
The last two times Jon Gray has pitched, the Colorado Rockies have totaled 25 runs. While Gray (3-2, 5.76 ERA) has won consecutive starts for the first time in his career behind those 18 runs, he's set to face rookie Luis Perdomo. The Rockies hit seven home runs as Gray walked three for a third straight start and was still able to limit damage. Continue to Article

San Diego Padres
Wil Myers homered, singled and doubled, missing the cycle by a triple for the second time in four games, and Derek Norris hit a two-run homer to lead the San Diego Padres to a 4-3 victory against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night. Earlier in the day, the Padres sent right-hander James Shields and $29 million to the Chicago White Sox for two prospects, capping one of the more miserable weeks in team history. The deal came three days after Padres executive chairman Ron Fowler criticized the last-place team's recent performances as being ''embarrassing'' and ''pathetic,'' and called out Shields for his poor start Tuesday at Seattle. Colorado Rockies
It appears the other shoe has dropped on the Colorado Rockies season. After playing respectable baseball and hanging around .500 deep into May, the Rockies have now lost 12 of 16 overall, including four of their last five to the Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres. Those are the teams they must beat if they're hoping to be relevant at any point beyond June. Instead, they've been thoroughly outplayed. A troubling sign for a team with no margin for error, and perhaps the most troubling sign came on Friday, when they were wiped out 4-0 by San Diego . [Elsewhere: Vin Scully announces Muhammad Ali's death during Dodgers broadcast ] You know, the same Padres team that was just called "miserable failures" by one of their own top executes .  It's no wonder frustrations are beginning to boil over for some Rockies players. Nolan Arenado, who many see as the face of the franchise, seems to be the most frustrated. He let loose with a dugout tirade during Friday's game that he insists was directed at no one in particular, but he seemed to have pitcher Chris Rusin and catcher Nick Hundley in his cross heirs.  Nolan Arenado was displeased after that Matt Kemp three-run homer: pic.twitter.com/QS2iQoTTrM — Nick Groke (@nickgroke) June 4, 2016 The outburst came moments after Matt Kemp drilled a first-inning fastball for a three-run home run.  Continue to Article

San Diego Padres
The San Diego Padres have traded pitcher James Shields and cash to the Chicago White Sox for pitcher Erik Johnson and shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. It came three days after Padres executive chairman Ron Fowler criticized the team's recent performances as being ''embarrassing'' and ''pathetic,'' and called out Shields for his poor start Tuesday at Seattle. Shields was one of several big-name players the Padres brought in before the 2015 season, giving him a $75 million, four-year deal. Continue to Article
