New York Mets
The New York Mets announced today that third baseman David Wright will head to the disabled list and miss 6-8 weeks of playing time. David Wright's injury will require 6-8 weeks of rest from baseball activities during which he will undergo appropriate physiotherapy. #Mets — New York Mets (@Mets) June 3, 2016 ESPN's Adam Rubin reported that Wright's trip to the disabled list is due to a herniated disc in his neck and that he tried everything to avoid missing time, including injections and oral anti-inflammatories. Unfortunately, nothing helped, and he's headed to the DL. [ Join a Yahoo Daily Fantasy Baseball contest now ] Continue to Article

New York Mets
By now, you may have heard of a little Broadway musical called "Hamilton," about the life (and death) of founding father Alexander Hamilton. It's a smash hit, and it's poised to win a slew of awards at next week's Tonys. Like many workplaces, they have a softball team made up of cast, crew, bartenders, and ushers from their theater. And wouldn't you know it, their softball team is undefeated! [ Join a Yahoo Daily Fantasy Baseball contest now ] They couldn't let this accomplishment pass without celebrating it, of course! On Wednesday, the "Hamilton" team and their coach, clad in their uniforms and led by the writer/composer/star of the show Lin-Manuel Miranda, did a sidewalk performance of "Heart" from the musical "Damn Yankees," which was absolutely perfect. "Damn Yankees," a musical about baseball, is a rarity in the genre. It's about a Washington Senators fan named Joe who sells his soul to the devil for a chance to help his hapless team beat those "Damn Yankees" and win the pennant. The devil transforms Joe into a young baseball player who is picked up by the Senators and transforms their season. In "Heart," the coach of the Senators gives his team a pep talk. The coach of the "Hamilton" softball team (wearing a New York Mets T-shirt, natch) appropriately starts off the performance in the role of the Senators' coach, but quickly turns the singing over to the professionals. This performance is just the latest in their ongoing #Ham4Ham series, in which the cast performs for the (very long) line of fans who hope to score tickets in the daily lottery.  Lin-Manuel Miranda is reportedly leaving "Hamilton" in July to work on other projects. After the success of his softball team, maybe a new baseball musical is in his future. We can hope, right? Miami Marlins
It took six innings for the Pittsburgh Pirates to record their first hit and the Miami Marlins went seven innings without one until they got one to end the game. Christian Yelich hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the 12th inning to lift the Marlins to a 4-3 victory over the Pirates on Thursday night to win the four-game series. Yelich drove a pitch from A.J. Schugel (1-2) into the gap in deep right-centerfield that allowed Martin Prado to score from first without a throw home. Continue to Article
