There's not much separating the Colorado Rockies and Pittsburgh Pirates right now, be it the hovering-around-.500 records, similar run differentials, excellent lineups or bad bullpens. Matt Carpenter had it backward on Thursday. The leadoff hitter in the St. Louis batting order, Carpenter homered and drove in a career-high six runs to lead the Cardinals to a 13-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday night.
