Cincinnati Reds
Some baseball players don't care about hearing boos. But other players? Other players thrive on them. Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto revealed what kind of player he is on Sunday when he pulled a devious trick on Philadelphia Phillies fans. In the bottom of the sixth inning of the Reds' game with the Phillies, Phillies second baseman Cesar Hernandez was batting with two outs. On a 3-2 pitch, Hernandez fouled the ball to the first base side, and Votto picked it up. The game had already gotten out of hand — the Reds had been leading 7-0 since the fourth inning — but that didn't dampen Votto's enthusiasm for trolling the Phillies faithful.  [ Join a Yahoo Daily Fantasy Baseball contest now ] Votto approached the fans sitting on the first base side of Citizens Bank Park. He raised his arm and looked out to the crowd, and appeared to be searching for someone to toss the ball to. But no! Suddenly he turned and threw it to someone on the field. PSYCH! And then, as the boos rained down upon him, Votto smiled and celebrated his victory with a fist pump. In a post-game interview at his locker, Votto revealed that it was all in good fun. He likes Phillies fan because they they're energetic, and they give as good as they get. There are few better compliments a fan base can get from a player. So troll on, Joey Votto! Phillies fans can take it.
