New York Mets
New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon's first career home run is a thing of majesty and beauty all on its own. Between the dugout reaction, the fan reaction, the announcers' reaction, and Bartolo's magnificent home run trot, you might think it can't get any better.  But it can.  A Mets fan and video editor named Mark Evans created a mash-up of Bartolo's home run and the famous home run scene from  The Natural , and it feels so right you might wonder "Is this how it actually happened?" Sadly, it didn't happen that way. But with this amazing video, we can pretend it did. This isn't the only tribute to Colon's historic dinger. Topps put it on their limited run ToppsNow cards, which are already fetching a hefty price on eBay. Hopefully this amazing moment continues to inspire people to create their own tributes. Anyone up for a  Rookie of the Year  mash-up? Los Angeles Dodgers
Trayce Thompson has a major league highlight of his own to go with all the ones created by his brother, Klay Thompson of the NBA champion Golden State Warriors. Thompson recently shaved his head in a nod to superstition. Thompson fought back from an 0-2 count against Hansel Robles (0-2) to get to 2-2 before homering into the left-field pavilion, snapping the Dodgers' three-game skid against the Mets. Bumgarner draws another marquee matchup Wednesday against Marcus Stroman, who will try to lift the visiting Toronto Blue Jays to their ninth win in 11 games over the Giants. Continue to Article
