Nationals 5, Tigers 4 Pinch-hitter Clint Robinson hit a solo homer with one out in the bottom of the ninth off Mark Lowe as the Washington Nationals beat the Detroit Tigers 5-4 on Monday, sending the Tigers to their seventh loss in a row. Robinson's homer came one batter after Danny Espinosa was ejected after he was called out on strikes by home plate umpire Brian Knight. Marlins 4, Brewers 1 Jose Fernandez stuck out 11 batters in seven scoreless innings and the Miami Marlins beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-1 on Monday despite a Miami run being taken off the scoreboard when J.T. In what's looking more and more like a lost season, the Minnesota Twins are turning their attention to the future. Jose Berrios will be back in the spotlight Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles in the promising rookie's follow-up to his first major league win. Owner of the worst record in the AL and having lost nine of 10, Minnesota (8-23) hopes it can find a silver lining in a talented young core that includes Berrios (1-1, 6.75 ERA), the organization's top pitching prospect. The Minnesota Twins had a new lineup to test, opening a three-game series against the same Baltimore team that swept them last month to start their season down this path of deterioration. The Twins postponed their game Monday night against the Orioles because of bad weather, pushing the game to July 28.
