A lack of offense was at the root of Houston's problems when it batted .213 during a 5-14 stretch that left it in last place after making the playoffs in 2015. Continue to Article

A baseball helmet that fits properly should never be parted from its owner. A helmet's main objective is to protect players, and remain in place throughout the duration of the play.  [ Join a Yahoo Daily Fantasy Baseball contest now ] But some helmets don't always stand up to the task at hand. That much is evident while watching Carlos Gomez take aggressive swings, or Bryce Harper furiously round the bases. Those helmets become separated from their owners. They have failed. They didn't do their job. Cleveland Indians infielder Jose Ramirez's helmet refused to be one of the many that get sadly left behind in the dirt. No, when Ramirez's helmet came loose during a slide in the second inning of Monday's contest against the Houston Astros, it was determined to return to its owner. “That thing does not obey the laws of physics at all.” pic.twitter.com/XyXLdfnbLU — MLB GIFS (@MLBGIFs) May 10, 2016 Somehow, the brave, little helmet that could found a way to make it work. After falling off Ramirez's head, the helmet bounded off his butt, ricocheted off his ankle and was then kicked high in the air by his foot. Despite the fact that it hit his foot at a weird angle, the helmet continued to travel forward, eventually hitting Ramirez in the back he slides into the base. Before some complain that the helmet didn't actually defy the laws of physics or gravity, we'll acknowledge that wasn't the case. Still, it was weird and unusual and amuses us. Is that a crime? Also, you must be fun at parties.  [Elsewhere: Bryce Harper got ejected and then cursed at the ump after the Nats' walk-off win ] In the end, a helmet was reunited with its owner. This play and the video it produced should be uplifting and inspirational. There's no need to ruin that with your negative attitude. Colorado Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes, currently on paid leave as Major League Baseball reviews his offseason domestic violence arrest, could be facing at least a 60-game suspension.
