The Washington Nationals' first three games in Missouri proved fruitful, but the next three come against a team that's been a little more difficult to beat at home. Washington (17-7) canceled out three home losses to Philadelphia with a three-game sweep in St. Louis over the weekend for a fine start to a difficult 10-game road trip that ends with four against the MLB-leading Chicago Cubs. The Atlanta Braves played with 24 players on Sunday after the club made a roster transaction snafu. Atlanta announced Sunday that it had selected the contract of infielder Emilio Bonifacio from Triple-A Gwinnett and optioned right-handed reliever Chris Withrow to the same club. Major League Baseball studied the move and informed the Braves that Bonifacio is ineligible to join the Braves until Saturday, leaving Atlanta a player short for Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs.
