Toronto Raptors
If you can't beat 'em, copy 'em. That would seem to be the m.o. of the Indiana Pacers' marketing department, whose "Gold Out" playoff campaign added a little extra for the official T-shirt for Friday's Game 6, and it looks familiar -- for Raptors fans, perhaps too familiar. Be here for the Game 6 Gold Out tomorrow to get this shirt. Tickets available: https://t.co/7BE9VwYGG7 #WeTheGold pic.twitter.com/NVub35cRzV — Indiana Pacers (@Pacers) April 28, 2016 Note that "tickets available" tag. The Indy Star's Gregg Doyel has a pretty good idea who's going to be coming in for those: Canada is coming, Pacers fans. They're coming with their black shirts and white towels. They want to buy your tickets and watch the Raptors end your season and then parade back to Toronto to present Drake with a love offering: the Pacers' season on a stick. This is not going down too well with the Raptors, or at least, Patrick Patterson, whose love for The 6 is well documented. "They're just trying to do something to get at us." - @pdpatt on ' #WeTheGold ' pic.twitter.com/NH5qxCaASO — Toronto Raptors (@Raptors) April 28, 2016 Finally, here's something to chew on other than Frank Vogel's substitutions, DeMar DeRozan's shooting, Drake's Instagramming. Truth be told, though, Raptors v Pacers needs it, at least south of the border where this potential series-ending game is being broadcast on -- drum roll -- ESPNNews. Oh, and NBA TV as well. Last time the teams exited the floor after Game 4 at the Pacers' home court, Raptors fans were the only voices being heard. The biggest subplot here might well be how just how many of Toronto's rolling fanbase show up, how loud they get -- and what they use that #WeTheGold T-shirt giveaway for. An entire nation, and ESPNNews, will be watching. It's a sad day when your basketball team markets themselves the exact same way as the Golddust fan club. #WeTheGold pic.twitter.com/nbzl46bz5S — andrewpanton (@andrewpanton) April 28, 2016       Continue to Article

Ozzie Silna, who turned a fading American Basketball Association franchise into a four-decade windfall of nearly $800 million from the NBA in what's commonly called the greatest deal in sports history, has died at age 83. Silna's younger brother and Spirits of St. Louis co-owner Daniel Silna told The Associated Press that his brother's funeral was held Thursday. Ozzie Silna died Tuesday at a Los Angeles hospital after a brief illness, his brother said. Continue to Article

Toronto Raptors
The Indiana Pacers are trying to get their spirits back up after putting their season in jeopardy by blowing a huge lead. The Toronto Raptors now have a cushion in this first-round series, although they don't want to think about that as they go back on the road. The Pacers aim to force a seventh game when they host the Raptors on Friday night, while Toronto tries to capture a seven-game series for the first time. Continue to Article
