Oakland Athletics
The Golden State Warriors go for historic regular season win No. 73 on Wednesday night. But before Stephen Curry and Co. have their chance to surpass Michael Jordan and the 95-96 Chicago Bulls for the record for most wins in a season, they hosted a few members of the Los Angeles Angels at practice. Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, Joe Smith and Cliff Pennington were on hand at the Warriors' practice facility Tuesday, as they were in the Bay Area for a series against the Oakland Athletics. Hey, it's a heck of a lot cheaper to watch practice than it would be to buy tickets for Wednesday night's game. You can watch the series finale of the Angels-A's series on Wednesday as it is  Yahoo Sports' Free MLB Game of the Day (3:35 p.m. ET). A stream of the contest will be available at  sports.yahoo.com/videos . LAA Angels
A.J. Griffin's first start in three years wasn't a work of beauty, but it was effective and ended the Texas Rangers' losing streak. Griffin went 14-10 with a 3.83 ERA and a team-high 171 strikeouts in 200 innings for Oakland in 2013, his only full season in the majors. Continue to Article

LAA Angels
If the Los Angeles Angels are to contend in an expectedly top-heavy AL West, they'll need to rely on more than just Mike Trout. Losses in four of the first five games seemed to signal the beginning of a potentially long season for the Angels (4-4), but they've bounced back well despite Trout's 5 for 27 start. After receiving strong pitching performances from Jered Weaver and Nick Tropeano over the first two games of the streak, the bats came alive during the final two innings of Tuesday's 5-4 come-from-behind victory over the A's. LAA Angels
Geovany Soto spent the final month of the 2014 season with Oakland, and he caught Sean Doolittle during that stretch. Soto hit a go-ahead two-run homer with one out in the ninth, and the Los Angeles Angels rallied against Oakland's improved bullpen to beat the Athletics 5-4. Albert Pujols hit a two-run double in the eighth off Ryan Madson to get the Angels back in the game. Continue to Article
