Many of us will attend countless baseball games during our lives in search of an elusive foul ball. Despite our best efforts, we may never achieve our ultimate goal.  [ Sign up for Fantasy Baseball  |  Play for $40K  |  Expert rankings  |  Mock draft ]  Then there are people like Detroit Tigers fan Bill Dugan. During a single game, Dugan managed to grab an amazing five foul balls.  Some people have all the luck.  Bill has had four foul balls come his way today. He's given them all away to young #Tigers fans. 👊 pic.twitter.com/Qc8BfT2Eav — Detroit Tigers (@tigers) April 11, 2016 The above tweet from the Tigers official account notes that Dugan only grabbed four foul balls. Shortly after they posted the picture, he managed to pick up his fifth . As the Tigers noted above, Dugan gave all five balls away to nearby kids. So, how the heck did this happen? Either Dugan had some exceptional seats, or he wore his foul ball-attracting cologne to the ballpark Monday. Actually, Dugan is no stranger to picking up errant baseballs. He told the Detroit Free Press he has between 200 to 300 balls at home that he picked up while at games. Some of those were grabbed during batting practices, while others were collected during games.  My record's eight — four during a game and four during batting practice," he said, during the fifth inning. "So I tied my record during a game just now." Minutes later, Dugan had set a new record for himself. In that case, we're no longer impressed, we're envious. Whatever Mr. Dugan is doing to attract foul balls, we want in! We'll rub ourselves in infield dirt, or put wood bat shavings in our pockets. Whatever it takes as long as we can finally head home with a foul ball. [Elsewhere: Kyle Schwarber's NLDS home run is back on top of the Cubs' video board ] Share your secrets, Mr. Dugan. Some of us are starting to get desperate.  More MLB coverage from Yahoo Sports: - - - - - - - Chris Cwik is a writer for Big League Stew on Yahoo Sports. Have a tip? The Pittsburgh Pirates' offensive game plan worked out well on Monday. The Pirates doubled five times off Justin Verlander and drove up his pitch count before forcing him out in the fifth inning of a 7-4 victory. ''That's something we've talked about our guys all winter, and we really emphasized it in the spring,'' Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said. Continue to Article

On Monday, Bill Dugan almost got bored by the whole thing. In a performance that captivated a Comerica Park crowd that wasn't much enjoying the Detroit Tigers' 7-4 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates, Dugan caught five foul balls in the first eight innings. Dugan, who gave all five to nearby kids, was sitting behind home plate, in an area normally used for fans in wheelchairs. Continue to Article
