Rookie Trevor Story capped his amazing first week in the majors by hitting his seventh home run, helping the Colorado Rockies beat the San Diego Padres 6-3 Sunday. Story's homer was one of five solo shots by the Rockies. Carlos Gonzalez went deep twice and Nolan Arenado and Ryan Raburn also connected for Colorado, which salvaged the finale of its three-game series. Continue to Article

Bartolo Colon, oh how we've missed thee. The 42-year-old right-hander has been the source of much entertainment — some intentional, some perhaps not so intentional — over the years, which is why we cherish every moment he spends on the field. [ Sign up for Fantasy Baseball | Play for $40K | Expert rankings | Mock draft ] That was especially true on Saturday night, as Colon made his much anticipated season debut at Citi Field. And let us just say, he did not disappoint one bit with his performance. Colon was in top form all the way around, tossing six innings of one-run ball. Though that may not have been enough on the scoreboard, as New York fell 1-0 to the Philadelphia Phillies, he found other ways to please as well, including this graceful over-the-shoulder catch that took fans back to the prime years of Willie Mays' Hall of Fame career. Well, maybe that's a bit of a stretch. But that's the beautiful thing about Bartolo Colon. He reminds us to dream big and swing for the fences, oversized helmet be damned. Bartolo Colon is an American treasure as an athlete. https://t.co/h6RHSj3tPM — Lou (@dubois) April 10, 2016 Yes, that also happened on Saturday.  Like we said, Colon was in top form. And this was only his first appearance of the season folks. There's more where this came from, and we can't wait to take it all in. Harvey gets to face what has been one of the majors' worst offenses, just as it was last season, when the Mets host the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday. For a brief time, Harvey pitching in the season opener - and beyond - was in doubt after he was scratched from his final spring outing due to a blood clot in his bladder. "There were times that I felt fine, and other times it was just hard finding a rhythm and getting my release point," Harvey told MLB's official website. Continue to Article

The Pittsburgh Pirates suffered their first setback against a team tied with them at the top of the NL Central - just not one expected to be there when all is said and done. One day after handing the visiting Pirates their first loss - repaying the favor from a day earlier - the Cincinnati Reds will go for their best start in five years with a series victory on Sunday. A 6-5 comeback win in Friday's opener gave Pittsburgh its first 4-0 start since 2003, and the Pirates trotted out ace Gerrit Cole on Saturday for his first outing after dealing with a sore ribcage.
