Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets have been the gift that keeps on giving for the Utah Jazz as they pursue their first playoff berth in four years. The Jazz caught a break when the Rockets dropped two in a row this week, but with Houston hosting a favorable matchup Sunday, the Jazz probably need a win against the Denver Nuggets to maintain sole possession of eighth place in the Western Conference. Scott obliged and the sellout crowd gave Bryant one final vociferous sendoff in the Crescent City, erupting with the loudest cheer of the night. The Pelicans dominated the Lakers in the second half and won 110-102. Continue to Article

Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points and the Dallas Mavericks overcame an injury to sparkplug J.J. Barea while moving to the brink of another playoff spot with a 103-93 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night. The Mavericks, who had already slowed their pace considerably because of injuries, had to reconfigure their offense again when Barea left with a right groin strain in the first half. Dallas got contributions from several unlikely sources, including a career-high 19 points from rookie Justin Anderson, while matching a season best with a sixth straight win. Continue to Article
