Kansas
After extending its spectacular run of Big 12 titles, Kansas can now turn its focus to wrapping up an outright crown for the eighth time in the last dozen years. The second-ranked Jayhawks just need to avoid becoming the next upset victim on No. 25 Texas' home floor Monday night. Kansas (25-4, 13-3) clinched at least a share of its 12th consecutive Big 12 regular-season championship with a 67-58 win over Texas Tech on Saturday and is now one shy of matching UCLA's record from 1967-79. Texas earned its biggest win yet under coach Shaka Smart on Saturday by upsetting rival Oklahoma 76-63, providing the kind of stain on the third-ranked Sooners' resume that could move them out of a No. 1 seed to a No. 2 in the NCAA Tournament. It looked liked All-American Buddy Hield might be in line for a huge day for the Sooners when he scored 23 points in the first half, but Texas limited him to 10 points in the second half and took control of the game. Hield finished with 33 points but he needed 24 shots to get there. [ Yahoo Tourney Pick’em is open. Sign up now and play for $50K ] The Sooners' usually reliable 3-point shooting wasn't quite at the level it has been most of the season. Oklahoma went 10-for-28 behind the arc and only got to the foul line nine times when it wasn't shooting from deep. Hield made a jump shot to give Oklahoma a seven-point lead with 7 minutes 33 seconds remaining, but then the Sooners endured one of their worst stretches of basketball of the season. They didn't score again until Hield made a meaningless 3-pointer with 35 seconds remaining and the game essentially decided. Texas closed the game with a 25-5 run. [ College basketball's All-time Starting Five: Michigan State Spartans ] While Hield struggled to make shots after halftime, Isaiah Cousins, Jordan Woodard and Ryan Spangler also were off target. Spangler went 1-for-5 and scored just two points in the game and Cousins and Woodard combined to make eight of 26 attempts. Five Longhorns scored in double figures led by Isaiah Taylor's 18. Connor Lammert and Javan Felix each scored 14 and Texas earned its seventh win over a team in the RPI top-50. Texas will host a Kansas team that could be ranked No. 1 again on Monday after the Jayhawks earned their ninth consecutive victory on Saturday and at least a share of the Big 12 Conference regular season title for a 12th consecutive season. Texas has played the nation's third toughest schedule to this point and has an opportunity to move up in seeding for the NCAA Tournament in a big way if it can pull off back-to-back top-5 upsets on Monday. The Longhorns entered the weekend as a likely No. 6 seed.   - - - - - - - [ Kyle Ringo is the assistant editor of The Dagger on Yahoo Sports. Have a tip? Kansas
The last time Kansas did not claim the Big 12 title, Usher's "Yeah" was unavoidable on the radio, Facebook was a new site your parents hadn't yet discovered and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were still America's favorite couple. That streak will continue at least one more year. Continue to Article

Kansas
Three losses in four games earlier this month likely cost Oklahoma and Texas a shot at the Big 12 regular-season title, and for the Sooners, it was a narrow home win over the Longhorns that allowed them to avoid a four-game skid. The Red River Rivalry reconvenes in Austin on Saturday with No. 3 Oklahoma hoping to keep its slim title hopes alive, while No. 25 Texas tries to draw even with the Sooners in the conference. Oklahoma (22-5, 10-5) has won consecutive games in impressive fashion since a crippling loss at Texas Tech on Feb. 17, but it's still unlikely to be enough to track down Kansas. Continue to Article

The Jayhawks (24-4, 12-3) swept Oklahoma, which spent time at No. 1 this season. Texas Tech (18-9, 8-7), however, has won five in a row for the first time in its 20-year stay in the league, which includes victories over Iowa State, Baylor and Oklahoma. Continue to Article
