Slaying the sportsbook is a monstrous task. Some days bettors take up residence in a penthouse suite. Other times, they curl up in the nearest ditch, shirtless and toothless. In an attempt to avoid complete destitution, I will post my picks, whether profitable or penniless, through the NCAA tourney. Check out Tuesday's selections below:  Vanderbilt (16-11, 12-13 ATS) at Florida (17-10, 12-11)  – Given the at-large implications at stake, this is a game Mr. Bubble would surely love. The reward for the winner is the upper-hand among SEC's mediocre four (LSU and Alabama the others) in the NCAA tournament at-large field.  Flo-rida has tumbled down the charts of late. On the wrong side in three of their last five games, Michael White's bunch has dropped from a projected No. 7 to a No. 10 seed on the Bracket Big Board . Persistent bricks explain the downturn. Collectively, the Gators shoot an abysmal 31.3 percent from three and rank No. 256 in effective field-goal percentage. Though solid defensively (No. 11 nationally in D-efficiency), they must get more from production from guards Kasey Hill, Chris Chiozza and KeVaughn Allen. Inside man Dorian Finney-Smith is their only reliable scoring option.  Vandy, a trendy Final Four pick before the season, has been one of the biggest disappointments in college basketball this year. At 8-6 in SEC play and clinging to 'dancing' thoughts, it needs to add another noteworthy win to an otherwise sickly resume. Don't be surprised if Kevin Stallings zones to neutralize Finney-Smith and force the Gators outside. Execute that strategy successfully and the Commodores will keep it close in Gainesville. With both teams in desperation mode, Vandy and the points is smart money.  Prediction: Florida 65 Vanderbilt (+5) 63 Continue to Article

Baylor
Kansas has won at least a share of 11 consecutive regular-season Big 12 championships, and its next game is the biggest of its final four on its way to No. 12. The second-ranked Jayhawks carry a two-game lead in the loss column into Tuesday night's trip to Baylor, and if their first meeting with the 19th-ranked Bears is any indication, an eighth straight win should be on the way. After heading to Waco, Kansas (23-4, 11-3) plays two of its last three at home with a stop at No. 25 Texas separating games against Texas Tech and No. 17 Iowa State. Continue to Article

Kansas
It's been a little more than two weeks since Texas played an unranked team and even longer since it has gotten to face one on the road. After a difficult stretch against the Big 12's leaders, the No. 24 Longhorns try to get back on course by taking advantage of Monday night's trip to Kansas State. Texas (17-10, 8-6) went 1-3 in four consecutive games against ranked teams, earning the win against West Virginia on Tuesday. Continue to Article

Kansas
Second-ranked Kansas had to show plenty of fight to hold off Kansas State on Saturday. Perry Ellis has the wounds to prove it. The Jayhawks' leading scorer missed a long stretch in the second half with a gouge behind his right ear that required 12 stitches. Continue to Article

Kansas
Frank Mason III scored 15 points, Perry Ellis added 14 and second-ranked Kansas escaped with a 72-63 victory over Kansas State on Saturday after blowing most of a 17-point lead in the second half. Wayne Selden Jr. also scored 12 for the Jayhawks (23-4, 11-3 Big 12), who needed a jumper from Devonte Graham and some free throws down the stretch to secure their first win at Kansas State in three years. Stephen Hurt and Barry Brown scored 13 points apiece for Kansas State (15-12, 4-10), which got within 65-62 with less than 2 minutes to go. Continue to Article
