James Woodard scored 19 points, Shaquille Harrison scored 11 and the go-ahead free throw in overtime and Tulsa rallied to beat Cincinnati 70-68 on Thursday night. Tied at 64, Cincinnati's Jacob Evans made a steal and was fouled, but split the pair of free throws and Tulsa pulled ahead 66-65 on Rashad Smith's jumper with a minute left. UConn's men's basketball team did not report a third consecutive perfect academic progress rate to the NCAA, but the numbers for the last academic year are well within the national guidelines, which measure a school's ability to keep athletes on track to graduate. The APR for the 2014-15 school year does not become official until the NCAA releases its national report in the spring, but The Associated Press obtained the numbers from the UConn this week after submitting an open records request. The men's team recorded an APR of 957 out of 1,000 for the year, reflecting the transfer of basketball player Rakim Lubin after last season. Continue to Article

While SMU's first winning streak in nearly two months would help it keep pace in the AAC, Connecticut could use one to recover from the blow its conference hopes suffered last week. The 21st-ranked Mustangs desperately need a win to remain within arm's reach of their second consecutive regular season title, and they will try to grab one while extending their success against host Connecticut on Thursday night. Omar Calhoun tied a season high with 14 points and Connecticut held off Tulsa 75-73 on Saturday after leading by 20 points in the second half. Five Huskies scored in double figures to help UConn to the win, which came less than 48 hours after the Huskies blew a late 12-point lead in a loss at Temple.
