Washington Wizards coach Randy Wittman coached on Saturday in spite of learning that, just hours before the team’s win over Houston, that his older brother had passed away. The Wizards coach has had a rough few months. His former sideline partner, longtime Minnesota and Washington coach Flip Saunders, died just before the 2015-16 season started. Far less important but also worth referencing is the play of his team, which has underachieved in a 21-24, injury-plagued, season thus far. Washington scored a season-high 123 points in the win , with eight players going for double-figures. The team is still two and a half games out of the Eastern playoff bracket. The Boston Celtics have had the Washington Wizards' number this season, and the last meeting featured an incident that could be revisited when these teams complete the season series. Celtics forward Jae Crowder claimed that Wizards coach Randy Wittman cursed at him the last time these teams met heading into Monday night's matchup that is still in some doubt due to the massive snowstorm that blanketed the nation's capital. Three National Hockey League games scheduled to be played this weekend have been postponed because of a severe winter snowstorm wreaking havoc on the East Coast of the United States, the league announced. Record-setting tides higher than during Superstorm Sandy have already caused major flooding in New Jersey and Delaware after dumping nearly two feet (60 cm) of snow on the suburbs of Washington, D.C. The game between the Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins, initially set for Sunday at Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., has been rescheduled for a later date. NEW YORK (Reuters) - The National Basketball Association has postponed two games due to be held on Saturday because of severe weather warnings, the league said. The matchup between the Boston Celtics and the 76ers in Philadelphia, where up to 45 centimetres (18 inches) of snow are forecast, has been shifted to Sunday at 1900 ET (0000 GMT). The game between the Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards in the U.S. capital, forecast to get up to 60 centimetres (two feet) of snow, will be rescheduled for a later date.
