Philadelphia
While the captain was the difference in the end, Frederik Andersen submitted probably his best performance of the season with 37 saves, and was absolutely the reason Toronto escaped with points. Tavares said after the game that Andersen earned all three stars, and we certainly didn't hear any argument from anyone. John Tavares scored at 2:33 of overtime and the Toronto Maple Leafs came back to defeat the visiting Vegas Golden Knights 2-1 on Thursday night. Mitch Marner scored the tying goal 5:03 into the third period, Frederik Andersen made 37 saves and Andreas Johnsson scored in the 11th round of a shootout to give the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night. Kasperi Kapanen and Jason Spezza each had a goal and an assist for Toronto, which snapped a three-game road slide thanks to Johnsson's shootout score. The Maple Leafs are 3-2-2 in their last seven games, and snapped an 0-2-2 rut at Philadelphia. Continue to Article
