The Boston Celtics extended their winning streak in the NBA as Kemba Walker returned to Charlotte on Thursday. Playing in Charlotte for the first time since leaving the Hornets at the end of last season, Walker received a warm ovation before the Celtics' 108-87 victory. The guard was below his best, finishing with 14 points on four-of-12 shooting, but the Celtics recorded their sixth straight win. Continue to Article

Code-hopping All Black Sonny Bill Williams has been put on a pedestal with superstars Le Bron James and David Beckham after confirming Friday a return to rugby league, joining the Toronto Wolfpack in a deal that could make him the richest player in either code. The two-time Rugby World Cup winner is reported to have inked a contract with the Canadian side worth £2.6 million a year ($3.3 million) which would be a record deal for either rugby league or union. The Boston Celtics continued their strong start to the 2019-20 campaign with a 119-113 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Tuesday night. The win marked the Celtics' fifth straight and ties them with the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat for first place in the Eastern Conference. Hayward has been a slow starter so far this season, but he wasted no time putting on a show on Tuesday night as he put up 22 points while going 9-of-9 from the field in the first half. Discussing his first NBA start in more than 1½ years, Isaiah Thomas tried to play it cool at first — his face straight, his voice barely above a whisper, his words betraying no emotion or real significance whatsoever. "Whether I start or come off the bench, I know who I am. I know I'm one of the best basketball players in the world," he said. The 5-foot-9 point guard was on the floor at the outset of the Washington Wizards' 115-99 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night, and he finished with nine points, six assists and two rebounds in just under 25 minutes. As we all expected, a top pick from Duke has jumped out of the gate for the New Orleans Pelicans and is already showing an All Star-level ceiling at his new home. The Pelicans' Zion Williamson era has been delayed 6-8 weeks as the rookie recovers from preseason knee surgery, but in his absence, Brandon Ingram has taken over. Ingram was arguably the biggest piece acquired in the Pelicans' Anthony Davis trade, a 22-year-old oozing athleticism, wingspan and potential. Continue to Article
