Houston
When the Houston Rockets traded Chris Paul for Russell Westbrook, there were some worries that James Harden wouldn't gel with his new backcourt-mate. Continuing an early-season trend, Harden led the Rockets to a 111-102 victory on Friday by smoking the Indiana Pacers to the tune of 44 points. Granted, the Pacers' crew of Domantas Sabonis, Jakarr Sampson, T.J. Warren, Malcolm Brogdon and Aaron Holiday isn't exactly the Dream Team, but that level of dominance doesn't happen often. Evan Fournier hit two big 3-pointers in the final 2 1/2 minutes as part of his 26-point night to lead a balanced Orlando attack and pace the Magic to a 111-109 win over the visiting San Antonio Spurs on Friday to win their second straight game and third in their past four outings. The Spurs led by as many as 16 points in the first half but Orlando came back and turned the game into a back-and-forth contest. Things were tied at 104 after a DeMar DeRozan layup with 1:32 to play before Fournier poured in his second big 3-pointer to give the Magic a lead it would not relinquish. Continue to Article

The Portland Trail Blazers are reportedly signing Carmelo Anthony, the 2013 NBA scoring champ who last played for the Houston Rockets a full year ago. If you're already raising your eyebrows at the amount of ball-handling guards now on the roster, you're not alone. Continue to Article

Carmelo Anthony, who hasn't played in over a year since being dumped by the Houston Rockets, has signed a contract with the last place Portland Trail Blazers, US media reported Thursday. The 35-year-old Anthony last played on November 8, 2018 when he shot just one of 11 from the floor and scored two points in the Rockets' 98-80 loss to Oklahoma City. Anthony started just two games and played parts of eight other contests with Houston before being cut and eventually traded to the Chicago Bulls in January 2019. Continue to Article

Houston
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be one that applies to one particular family in the NBA. A brilliant moment during Houston Rockets' 102-93 win over the LA Clippers saw Rockets star Austin Rivers call for the opposition coach to be ejected from the game. Father and son went head-to-head as Rivers Sr took his side to Texas to face a Rockets side containing his second son Austin in their ranks. Continue to Article
