Michael Brantley extended his hitting streak to 17 games with a home run while Alex Bregman set a new single-season standard for homers as the Houston Astros clinched this three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels with a 5-2 victory Saturday at Minute Maid Park. Brantley socked his 19th home run with one out in the first inning, following a triple from Jose Altuve with a 363-foot drive to right field off Angels left-hander Dillon Peters (3-2). Brantley bumped his RBI total to 17 during his streak and has recorded 14 extra-base hits in that span. Continue to Article

Zack Greinke remained unbeaten over his four starts since joining the Houston Astros at the trade deadline despite pitching in and out of trouble in a 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday at Minute Maid Park. After falling into a 2-0 hole in the second inning, Greinke (14-4) darted in and out of effectiveness and departed with two outs in the seventh inning with a one-run lead despite allowing 10 hits and recording only one strikeout. Right-hander Will Harris handled the final bit of drama Greinke created with Anthony Bemboom at third base by striking out Shohei Ohtani to preserve the lead. Continue to Article

Houston
He's a fly ball hitter with just enough pop, speed, and contact skills to matter. Plate discipline can be an issue for Fraley. His opponent, Thornton, is known for tossing the occasional cookie over the heart of the plate. Continue to Article
