Todd Frazier grounded a go-ahead, ninth-inning single to right field against right-hander Alex Colome before Michael Conforto busted open a tight game with a two-run single, lifting the visiting New York Mets to a 4-2 victory against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night. The instant the White Sox returned Eloy Jimenez and Tim Anderson to their slumping lineup, they lost another core player to an injury. Yoan Moncada is heading to the injured list with a Grade 1 hamstring strain, general manager Rick Hahn announced Wednesday. The White Sox are in an interesting point in their rebuild ahead of today's trade deadline. They aren't yet in position to be buyers, as they currently sit 18 games out of first place in the AL Central and 13 games out of a wild-card spot. At the same time, they aren't in position to sell off assets for the sake of gaining anything valuable back in return, as they hold a 46-58 record and should be more competitive in 2020. The Texas Rangers acquired right-handed reliever Nate Jones, international slot compensation and cash considerations from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for minor league right-handers Joe Jarneski and Ray Castro on Wednesday. Jones, who has been on the White Sox's 60-day injured list, will go on the Rangers' 60-day injured list, where he is expected to stay for the rest of the season. Jones, 33, appeared in 13 games for Chicago this season, posting an 0-1 record and a 3.48 ERA in 10 1/3 innings before going on the injured list April 27. Continue to Article
