Eric Hosmer capped a four-run first inning by hitting a three-run homer, and the San Diego Padres held on for a 5-4 victory over the New York Yankees on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium. The Padres evened the series by taking a four-run lead four batters in after New York third baseman DJ LeMahieu misplayed a grounder by leadoff man Greg Garcia for an error.
