Kyle Lowry scored 24 points and DeMar DeRozen added 21 as the Toronto Raptors defeated the San Antonio Spurs 86-83 in a defensive battle on Friday at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Toronto led just 70-69 with 6:53 to play but ran away with a 10-2 run over the ensuing four and a half minutes to build enough of a cushion to hold off the Spurs' late surge, which included a last-second missed shot by Bryn Forbes that could have tied the game. Aldridge scored 34 points and the Spurs responded to the latest absence of Leonard by beating the Brooklyn Nets 100-95 on Wednesday night. Continue to Article

San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs will hold All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard out indefinitely due to lingering pain from a quadriceps injury that caused him to miss the first 27 games of the season. "He didn't re-injure it or anything. But you know he was having pain, not right after games but maybe the next day," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said Wednesday. "... The pain wasn't dissipating, it wasn't going in the right direction, it was going the other way." Popovich quickly dismissed the idea that Leonard could be out for the remainder of the season due to the tendinopathy in his right quadriceps. Popovich described the Spurs' decision to sit Leonard as "conservative." "You've got to be confident in your body Continue to Article
