Sam Gagner had shootout moves dancing through his head as he took the ice for his final shift Friday night. The Vancouver Canucks' forward ended up needing one of those dekes in overtime. Gagner beat Martin Jones with a nifty backhand on a breakaway at 4:34 of the extra period, and Vancouver snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks. You really need to crane your neck to find a silver lining in the dark clouds hanging over the Canucks, who’ve lost two straight games and five of eight. Some will find it intriguing to see how Boeser, the Canucks’ lethal-scoring and well-coiffed winger, fares with both his partners in crime on the shelf for at least a month.
