At the game between the New York Mets and the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday night at Citi Field, fans booed New Jersey Governor Chris Christie after he caught a foul ball. “A souvenir for Chris Christie, are you kidding me?” said the Fox Sports Midwest announcer. In the clip above — watch with sound on — you can see Cardinals second baseman Paul Dejong pop a foul ball, which flies over to Christie sitting close to the field. Continue to Article

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was booed by fans at a New York Mets baseball game on Tuesday night, after catching a foul ball in the stands. Christie was watching the Mets play a home game against the St. Louis Cardinals when he made the catch. “Nice to see him get from the beach here to the ballpark,” Cardinals’ play-by-play announcer Dan McLaughlin said, according NJ.com, referencing Christie’s visit earlier this month to a state beach that he had closed to the public in the midst of a government shutdown in New Jersey. Yoenis Cespedes has struck out twice and is hitless in nine at-bats since missing Sunday's game with the same sore hip that forced him to leave a game early the day before. It has been 66 at-bats and nearly a month since Cespedes last hit a home run. Cespedes, 31, missed 37 games earlier this season due to a sore quad and a strained hamstring. He also missed time last season with a sore quad, which he initially tried to play through before ending up on the disabled list. "There's a little concern there," Terry Collins admitted Tuesday, when asked about how Cespedes has struggled this season. "Obviously, power is huge from the legs. Just looking at the swings, the lower half seems to be fine. Continue to Article

The Mets were charged with three errors, which led to three unearned runs, during Tuesday's 5-0 loss to the Cardinals at Citi Field. "It was kind of ugly for us in the beginning," Reyes said. The beginning? Try the middle and the end, too, Jose... "You've got to make those plays," manager Terry Collins said after the game. "This is the Major Leagues and we've got to make plays." This is true. But, you're not. Similarly, I'd like to be younger and faster. But, that's not magically happening, either, because wishing for things is not a plan for improvement. The 2017 group of Mets infielders.
