Chicago White Sox
ANAHEIM, Calif. — The White Sox lost the strangest game on Tuesday night. There were a couple of bloopers that found holes in the bottom of the 11th to set up the winning rally. Melky Cabrera slipped on the wet grass in the outfield and couldn’t recover in time to make one catch. Don Cooper was ejected for arguing balls and strikes. And then there was Todd Frazier’s 33-hop single that scooted through the infield to drive in two runs during a furious ninth-inning rally. But it all still added up to a difficult loss for the White Sox. Having rallied from three down to pull ahead late on a Tim Anderson home run, the White Sox couldn’t hang on. A pair of bloop hits and Albert Pujols’ game-winning Continue to Article

ANAHEIM, Calif. Tim Anderson is back with the White Sox, but Rick Renteria gave him a day to get re-acclimated. ANAHEIM, Calif. — Rick Renteria didn’t shy away from the blame for Monday night’s loss to the Los Angeles Angels. The White Sox manager could see that his starting pitcher, Mike Pelfrey, had begun to wear down in the fifth inning. Ahead by three runs, Renteria had the pieces in place to make a move to try and keep his team in the lead. But instead of listening to his instincts, Renteria went with his heart and stayed with Pelfrey. Six pitches later, the lead had vanished. Fifth-inning home runs by Kole Calhoun and Mike Trout off Pelfrey gave the Angels everything they needed to send the White Sox to a 5-3 loss in front of 29,445 at Angel Stadium. The White Sox, who opened a 10-game road trip Continue to Article

Look, Todd Frazier is not the fastest guy on the bases. The Chicago White Sox third baseman isn’t going to win any foot races or surprise anyone with his speed.  It’s a good thing, then, that he’s got the brains to compensate. Take the eighth inning of Sunday’s matinee against the San Diego Padres for example. Continue to Article

The first five starts of Dylan Coveys big league career werent exactly a dream come true. Covey was tired of that. Covey gave up a home run on the very first pitch he threw Saturday night, Manuel Margot taking it out for a solo shot, the second time a Padres hitter did that to a White Sox starter in as many nights.
