New York Mets
It's been a rough four days for the Mets, during which they've lost four times, all of which ended in the opponent's final at bat. As a result, the Mets look listless and sloppy and now are in jeopardy of falling below .500... "We'll dig out of it, we'll get through it," manager Terry Collins told reporters, reassuring himself after the game. "You've got to go out there, you still have to get outs and you've got to make pitches and that's not what we're doing." In addition to their bats becoming chaotic, their fielding and base running has also been messy. In last night's game, the light again shined on Jose Reyes, who hit seventh in the order, had just one hit, struck out and left three men Continue to Article

New York Mets
Jose Reyes is a mess right now. You know it. I know it. He knows it. And, more importantly, the front office knows it, which is why they're already building contingency plans at third base, despite it being just 14 games in to the season... According to people close to the team, the Mets are not married to playing Reyes at third base, though you wouldn't know it from listening to Terry Collins talk to reporters after the game. The plan before the season was to have Reyes fill in at third base until David Wright returned from the disabled list. Then, once Wright was back, Reyes would shift to being a super utility guy playing most days (either at third, shortstop or second base) while continuing Continue to Article

This umpire isn’t the hero we need; he’s the one we deserve. Homeplate ump just picked up a food wrapper that blew onto the field and smelled it. This will not help the MLB pick up the pace of play. pic.twitter.com/6DkD3DdwY9— MetsKevin11 Continue to Article

New York Mets
NEW YORK -- The New York Mets did not hit a home run against Phillies pitching on Tuesday night. That almost qualifies as a stop-the-presses moment these days because it seems as if all the Mets do is take Phillies pitchers deep. The Mets have out-homered the Phillies, 79-35, since the start of the 2015 season. They hit 10 of them in sweeping a three-game series from the Phillies last week at Citizens Bank Park. That sweep helped the Mets build a 29-12 record against the Phils since the start of 2015 entering Tuesday night's matchup at Citi Field. Not only did the Phillies keep the Mets in the yard Tuesday, they out-homered them -- Odubel Herrera hit his first of the season in the first inning Continue to Article
