Evander Kane helped the Buffalo Sabres to their first winning streak in nearly a month. ''We need to go back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back,'' Kane said after the Sabres' 2-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night. While the New Jersey Devils are hanging around in the playoff race, they are not making up much ground. Devils defenseman Andy Greene scored the go-ahead goal on a power play and Kyle Palmieri converted on an odd-man rush with Taylor Hall to lead New Jersey over the struggling Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on Tuesday night. The Colorado Avalanche long ago became resigned to playing the role of spoiler during the second half of the NHL season, On Sunday night, they'll have a rare chance to damage an opponent's playoff chances for a second time when they visit the New York islanders at Barclays Center.
