What Creighton and Georgetown seek to gain from Sunday's Big East rematch are significantly different three weeks before the conference tournament. With an NCAA bid seemingly secure, the No. 20-ranked Bluejays are looking to bounce back from two setbacks -- Wednesday's 87-81 loss at Seton Hall and the 71-51 drubbing that Georgetown delivered to Creighton on Jan. 25 in Washington, D.C. Khadeen Carrington scored the final 10 points of his career-high 41 in the closing minute and Seton Hall made a big stride toward the NCAA Tournament with an 87-81 victory over No. 20 Creighton on Wednesday night. Desi Rodriguez had 18 points and big man Angel Delgado got going in second half and added 17 points and 17 rebounds as the Pirates (16-9, 6-7 Big East) opened a crucial three-game home stand with a big win. Since star point guard Mo Watson suffered a season-ending knee injury in mid-January, Khyri Thomas has done a nice job filling the void and running the show for No. 20 Creighton. Watson, the nation's active assists leader, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Creighton's 72-67 victory at Xavier on Jan. 16. Thomas, a sophomore from Omaha, made the transition from shooting guard to point guard seamlessly in Watson's absence. Continue to Article

Creighton has won three of its last four games to regain its traction following the mid-January loss of star point guard Maurice Watson to a season-ending knee injury. Creighton Basketball’s Marcus Foster threw down a one-handed dunk with such authority on Saturday afternoon against DePaul that one of his teammates fainted. Foster was issued a technical foul after the dunk for staring down the defender. Foster finished with 13 points, three assists and three rebounds. Continue to Article
