Alain Vigneault didn't have to think long about whether he wanted an extension with the New York Rangers. Alain Vigneault, who guided the New York Rangers to the Stanley Cup Final in his first season as coach, has signed a contract extension, the NHL team announced Tuesday. The deal, reportedly for two years through the 2019-20 season, will give Vigneault a chance to see young talent flourish for the Rangers, who have 175 wins from 295 games in his first four seasons under him. "I gave it a lot of thought and I feel with the young kids that we're bringing in -- whatever you want to call it, the retooling -- I believe we can win and compete in a very tough league," Vigneault said.
