Dallas Mavericks
The Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors could be shooting for a record when they meet for the first time this season Thursday night. The Rockets will put their streak of having made at least 10 3-pointers in 17 straight games on the line against a team that owned the NBA perimeter last year. Houston's James Harden (55), Eric Gordon (55) and Trevor Ariza (52) all rank among the Top 10 this season in 3-pointers made, and Ryan Anderson (45) isn't far outside the group, lifting the Rockets (13.8 per game) into a tie with Cleveland for the team lead. Australian guard Patty Mills came off the bench to score 23 points for the short-handed San Antonio Spurs in 94-87 victory over the Mavericks in Dallas. ''I'm almost ready to get fined after watching that double-dribble yesterday,'' said Cuban, who has been fined more than $1.5 million over the years for comments about officiating. Vince Carter is no longer the NBA's highest flyer, though he's certainly not ready to be grounded. ''That's how I was able to stay around this long, is just, I learned the game,'' Carter said. Same with Manu Ginobili in San Antonio, Jason Terry in Milwaukee, Paul Pierce in Los Angeles and Dirk Nowitzki in Dallas, who follow Carter as the oldest players in the NBA this season.
