After combining to score one run in 10 innings in the first game of the series Monday night, the Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins are both hoping for better results on Tuesday. It took 10 innings for the Indians to score the only run of the game in a victory that extended the Twins' losing streak to 11 games. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Rangers outfielder Ian Desmond stepped to the plate against reliever Arquimedes Caminero looking to extend his team’s lead. Yu Darvish did his part in the first of six straight games at home for the Texas Rangers against the two teams chasing them in the AL West. Darvish struck out nine in 6 2/3 innings and Carlos Beltran homered among three hits, helping the Rangers beat the Seattle Mariners 6-3 on Monday night.
