It took Chris Rusin some time to adjust from the bullpen to the starting rotation this season. On Wednesday night, the Colorado Rockies left-hander finally broke through for the win he had been desperately seeking. The Pittsburgh Pirates blew a late lead and missed a chance to sweep a three-game series from the New York Mets, and yet the mood was upbeat afterward. Pinch-hitter Wilmer Flores' bloop single with the bases loaded in the 10th inning drove in the go-ahead run for the Mets in a 6-5 victory over the Pirates on Wednesday night. If not for a stellar pitching staff, the Los Angeles Dodgers would be in the midst of a slump. The Dodgers have scored more than four runs just once in seven games so far this month, but with help from their pitchers, they won four times during that stretch. The Colorado Rockies had plenty of chances against teenage prospect Julio Urias and a shaky Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen on Tuesday night. Trayce Thompson hit a game-ending homer to give the Dodgers a 4-3 win over the Rockies on Tuesday night in Urias' home debut.
