Jordan Zimmermann is making the Detroit Tigers' investment look wise after a run in April that hasn't been seen very often. Texas counters with Cole Hamels in Friday night's series opener at Comerica Park as both clubs look to snap three-game skids. Zimmermann (5-0, 0.55 ERA) signed a $110 million deal in the offseason after seven years in Washington, and he's started his tenure with the Tigers (14-13) better than even they'd hoped. Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig doesn't just catch baseballs anymore. He also catches fish! Puig tweeted a photo of himself holding a large fish Thursday morning, which was apparently his first catch. [ Join a Yahoo Daily Fantasy Baseball contest now ] There are so many things to love about that tweet and photo. Has anyone ever been as excited to be holding a dead fish as Puig is at that moment? First catch for Puig, Wow #PuigHungry #Sushi #FishDay 🎣🎣🐟🍣🍣 pic.twitter.com/mrDrRW9rDI — Yasiel Puig (@YasielPuig) May 5, 2016 With his face and the #PuigHungry hashtag, it looks like Puig is just seconds away from taking a huge bite out of that fish. And considering that he used #Sushi and several sushi emojis, that fish is probably destined for Puig's stomach, though probably in the form of actual sushi and not a whole fish. #PuigHungry is the latest Puig centered hashtag the player has introduced recently. When Jared Goff was signed by the Los Angeles Rams, Puig used #PuigYourFriend to welcome him to the city, and to show there were no hard feelings after a years old angry tweet from Goff. If Puig wants to continue fishing, he'd be in good company. Ted Williams was an incredibly skilled fisherman, and caught a number of fish that were larger than some human beings. Roy Halladay and Chris Carpenter love to fish, which they did together on a trip to Brazil in 2012 where they not only fished, but also saved a man from a snake bite. Jake Peavy also fishes, though he injured himself with a fishing knife 2014. As long as Puig stays away from fishing-related accidents, he's chosen a fine ballplayer pasttime. And hopefully he keeps the awesome fish pics and hashtags coming.
