Philadelphia Phillies
The Washington Nationals don't seem overly concerned about their offensive struggles that resulted in them being swept in their most recent series. Washington averaged 4.4 runs while winning 14 of the first 18 but totaled three - none in the last two - with 13 hits and 27 strikeouts while going 3 for 18 with runners in scoring position in being swept in a three-game home set by Philadelphia. Scoreless over the last 22 innings, the Nationals (14-7) have not gone three straight games without a run since April 2004 in the franchise's final season in Montreal. Continue to Article

Cleveland Indians
While outstanding pitching has helped extend the Philadelphia Phillies' surprising surge, Corey Kluber has the only recent positive effort for the Cleveland Indians. As the Phillies chase their seventh victory in eight games, Kluber will try to continue his success at NL ballparks Friday night in the opener of a three-game series. Philadelphia (12-10) made a statement Thursday with a 3-0 win that gave the club a three-game sweep at Washington. Continue to Article

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day has been a thing for more than two decades now and let’s just say some kids have it a little better than others when it comes to shadowing their parent for a day at the office. Of course, every experience can be a valuable one for the kids who are able to participate and get a taste of what their parents do each day, but some are just bound to have more fun. Madison Roark is one of the lucky ones. Tanner Roark’s daughter Madison found time in her busy schedule to write out today’s lineup. pic.twitter.com/MuCrTWXsq9 — Washington Nationals (@Nationals) April 28, 2016 [ Rookie phenom Trevor Story on pace to make wrong kind of history ] Her dad, Tanner, is a starting pitcher for the Washington Nationals and he just happened to be the scheduled starter today for his team’s home game against the Philadelphia Phillies. He decided to bring Madison to work with him and she filled out the lineup card for the team before the game. Not only does Madison have excellent penmanship, she threw in some personal touches that make this Washington lineup one of the cutest things you will see in baseball all season. She added hearts next to each player’s jersey number, drew a stick figure family next to her dad’s spot in the order and listed her father as "Daddy Roark" batting ninth. It’s just not going to get much more precious than that. [ Tigers desperately need Justin Upton's bat to wake up soon ] In honor of #TakeYourKidToWorkDay , today’s #Nats lineup is a Madison Roark original. pic.twitter.com/I7IxqtFh5E — Washington Nationals (@Nationals) April 28, 2016 Tanner Roark has been pitching at a high level to start the season. He struck out 15 batters in his last start against the Twins to earn his second win of the season and followed it up Thursday with another quality start. Madison didn't get to see her dad earn a win. He left the game after pitching seven innings with the score tied 0-0. He struck out six Phillies.
