Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks Thread

Dallas Mavericks
The beginning of 2010 was the last time the Utah Jazz won in Dallas, and the end of that year was their most recent winning streak of at least seven games. While trying to remain one of the NBA's hottest teams, the Jazz can simultaneously end both of those droughts when they visit the Mavericks on Tuesday night. The opening three months of the season brought mostly headaches for Utah (25-25), but the Jazz have finally found a rhythm with six straight wins - the league's second longest current streak behind Golden State's nine. Dallas Mavericks
Klay Thompson rattled in a clutch three pointer with 1:40 left as the Golden State Warriors won their ninth straight with a 116-108 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder made Golden State work for the victory as the Warriors led by 20 points at one stage then had to come-from-behind to erase a nine-point Oklahoma City lead. Golden State improved to 46-4 and tie the 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers for the best 50-game start in league history. Continue to Article

Utah Jazz
A fast start was enough to propel the Utah Jazz to their season's-best sixth straight victory. Rodney Hood scored 25 points, Gordon Hayward added 22 and the Jazz withstood a late Phoenix rally to beat the reeling Suns 98-89 on Saturday night. ''I am going to let myself feel good about winning six in a row,'' Jazz coach Quinn Snyder said. Continue to Article

Dallas Mavericks
The San Antonio Spurs got out to a ridiculous start to the proceedings on Friday night. After 24 minutes of play, the team had more than doubled up the Dallas Mavericks – they straight up reversed them. The contest was locked at a 62-26 score when the two teams went into the locker rooms for halftime, even with Spurs star Tim Duncan sitting out his sixth straight game with right knee soreness. [ Follow Dunks Don't Lie on Tumblr: The best slams from all of basketball ] Duncan, however, had a front row seat for a very Gregg Popovich-like moment when Mavs reserve big man Salah Mejri decided to talk a little smack to the Spurs bench after scoring with his team already down 21 points. The Spurs relented a bit in the second half, only winning by a 26-point margin , but not before yet another Maverick decided to open up following a garbage time throwdown: JaVale McGee dunked on Boban Marjanovic and let him know about it. So both Mavs backup centers have talked trash after dunks in a blowout. — Tim MacMahon (@espn_macmahon) February 6, 2016 Or, maybe not: @espn_macmahon UR A TROLL... Say something positive... I was talking to j.evans cuz I told him I had his back from when he got dunked on — PÎÊRRĘ (@JaValeMcGee34) February 6, 2016 We usually don’t root for teams to lose games, but the Mavs are just a half game up on Houston for the seventh spot in the West. Just a little Rocket rise and Maverick swoon could result in yet another Dallas/San Antonio playoff series, and I think that’s well worth hoping for. - - - - - - - Kelly Dwyer is an editor for Ball Don't Lie on Yahoo Sports.
