The Vancouver Canucks received some good news on Saturday as Brock Boeser returned to practice after sustaining a concussion during Monday night's 6-4 preseason win over the Ottawa Senators. The head injury was the result of a dangerous hit from behind from Senators forward Chris Tierney. Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews addressed disorderly conduct charges against him on Wednesday with a brief statement to reporters. "I regret any of my actions that put a distraction on the team or distress on any individual," Matthews said after taking part in the team's morning skate. After presumably consuming too many drinks on a night out in his hometown of Scottsdale, AZ., about a month after the Toronto Maple Leafs' season had ended, the star centre along with a group of friends allegedly attempted to open a car door while a female security guard sat inside filing paperwork. Despite the best efforts — or maybe pleads — from a friend that was sober enough to understand that harassing a security guard was wrong, or at the very least a bad look for Matthews, and in that moment could at least contemplate the potential repercussions his famous friend apparently couldn't, Dozithee went ahead with her right to pursue legal action. Toronto Maple Leafs player Auston Matthews is facing disorderly conduct charges following an alleged incident in his hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona last May. The 22-year-old Matthews has a scheduled court date set for Wednesday.
