The St. Louis Cardinals have activated third baseman Matt Carpenter from the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's series finale against the Oakland Athletics. Carpenter originally went on the IL on July 16 with a contusion after fouling a ball off the top of his right foot against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
