The agent for New Orleans Saints leading receiver Michael Thomas says Thomas and the Saints have agreed on a new five-year, $100 million contract. Andrew Kessler of the agency Athletes First, who joined colleague David Mulugheta in negotiating the deal with the Saints, says the contract pays Thomas about $61 million in guaranteed salary and bonuses. Lorenzo Cain hit the second pitch of the game for a home run, and Jordan Lyles threw five strong innings in his Milwaukee debut Wednesday night, sending the Brewers to a 4-2 victory over the host Oakland Athletics in the second game of an interleague series. Lyles (6-7), who had been winless in four starts for Pittsburgh in July before being acquired by the Brewers in a trade Monday, checked the A's on three hits before leaving with a 3-1 lead. Hendricks (8-8) held St. Louis to seven hits while walking none and striking out seven. The Twins, who lead the American League Central and have won five of their past six games, also got a three-run homer by Mitch Garver, a two-run shot by Eddie Rosario and a solo blast from Max Kepler.
