Seattle Mariners infielder Tim Lopes was placed on the seven-day concussion list on Friday, one day after being hit in the left side of his face with a pitch by Detroit Tigers right-hander Drew VerHagen. Lopes staggered away from the plate after getting beaned by a 91 mph fastball from Detroit Tigers starter Drew VerHagen in the third inning Thursday night.
