The game was briefly delayed in the fourth inning when Chicago's Albert Almora Jr. hit a foul ball that struck a young fan in the stands. Bill Belichick has won a Super Bowl against a St. Louis team as head coach of the New England Patriots, so it was only appropriate the Boston Bruins invited him to be the fan banner captain for Game 2 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final. Belichick waved the banner alongside Special Olympics athlete James Coffey before the Bruins took on the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night, and the legendary coach's presence sent the TD Garden crowd into a frenzy. Seattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford landed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, one day after he sprained his left ankle while retreating to the third-base bag. Crawford, 24, was helped off the field and taken for X-rays after sustaining the injury in the eighth inning of Tuesday night's 11-4 loss to the visiting Texas Rangers.
