A look at what's a happening around the majors today: LA LONGBALLS Cody Bellinger and the Los Angeles Dodgers are on a home run rampage, hitting a whopping 21 in their first eight games - that's the second-most in major league history in that span, only behind the St. Louis Cardinals' 23 in 2000. After launching a franchise-record 235 homers last year, the NL champion Dodgers have connected in every game so far this season. When he came up to bat again in the third inning, he roped a single to center field for his second hit of the night, but was left stranded on the bases after Pivetta made short work of the heart of the order. Boston Red Sox pitcher David Price thinks teammate Mookie Betts could be the face of Major League Baseball if the league put any effort into marketing him. Speaking to Masslive before Friday's game in Arizona, Price says the league has dropped the ball in regards to how Betts and other African-American MLB stars are being promoted. It's still not too late to join or create a 2019 Yahoo Fantasy Baseball league] Price specifically pointed out how Betts isn't featured in any of MLB's commercials despite winning the 2018 American League MVP and helping lead Boston to a World Series championship. Through six games, Moncada is batting .458 with two home runs and 10 RBIs, a hot start that has especially excited the organization on the heels of Moncada's 2018 campaign, in which he batted .235 and led the majors in strikeouts (217). "It feels very comfortable," Moncada said. One of Chicago's key returns from the Boston Red Sox in the blockbuster trade involving left-hander Chris Sale in December of 2016, Moncada is exhibiting exactly the power and plate discipline that helped him ascend the prospect ranks.
