Yonny Chirinos worked seven strong innings, and the Tampa Bay Rays claimed their four-game series against the Houston Astros with a 3-1 victory on Sunday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. Chirinos, making just his eighth career start after appearing in 18 games as a rookie in 2018, dominated the Astros while surrendering two hits and recording six strikeouts. Free agent left-hander Dallas Keuchel's representatives are "in discussion with a number of clubs," agent Scott Boras told MLB Network on Friday. Boras said Keuchel, the 2015 American League Cy Young Award winner, is throwing simulated 95-pitch games every five days so that he'll be ready to step into a team's rotation when he signs. Baez became the first Cubs player with a multi-homer game in the season opener since Corey Patterson in 2003.
