James Harden scored 44 points and had eight rebounds as the Houston Rockets beat the Indiana Pacers 111-102 on Friday night to stretch their winning streak to six games. Harden scored 40-plus points for the fourth time in six contests and carried the injury-hit Rockets on his back. When Harden needed a rest in the third quarter, Ben McLemore picked up the slack, scoring 10 of his season-high 21 points in the third. Continue to Article

The Hornets countered Langston Galloway's 3-pointer that gave the Pistons a three-point lead with 50 seconds left by scoring a pair of 3-pointers in the last 24 seconds. First it was Marvin Williams with a long-range connection. Continue to Article

He'll join Damian Lillard, all-star guard and early MVP candidate, and CJ McCollum, the 2016 Most Improved Player. If you're already raising your eyebrows at the amount of ball-handling guards now on the roster, you're not alone. Continue to Article

Houston
Carmelo Anthony, who hasn't played in over a year since being dumped by the Houston Rockets, has signed a contract with the last place Portland Trail Blazers, US media reported Thursday. The 35-year-old Anthony last played on November 8, 2018 when he shot just one of 11 from the floor and scored two points in the Rockets' 98-80 loss to Oklahoma City. Anthony started just two games and played parts of eight other contests with Houston before being cut and eventually traded to the Chicago Bulls in January 2019. Continue to Article
