Alex Iafallo was the overtime hero as the host Los Angeles Kings tied the game late in regulation and then claimed victory 23 seconds into the extra period for a 3-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings Thursday night. On the winning goal, Drew Doughty's shot went off the glass but rebounded to Iafallo at the doorstep and he had a tap-in tally. Jordan Greenway notched the game-winning goal in the third period as the Minnesota Wild defeated Arizona for the second time in six days, dropping the visiting Coyotes 3-2 on Thursday night. Zach Parise notched a goal and an assist, Kevin Fiala scored and Devan Dubnyk stopped 27 shots for the Wild, who won 4-3 in Arizona on Saturday. Continue to Article

It was reported Wednesday that the Kings and Kovalchuk are finalizing his release but the 36-year-old insists he's not paying attention to the headlines. Continue to Article

Brought in at the 2019 trade deadline, Jensen was playing top-pair minutes with the Detroit Red Wings. In Washington, however, it was a struggle to find the best fit for him in the lineup. Jamie Baker struggled for a long time. The Sharks broadcaster, who played 186 games for the franchise and clinched their 1994 Stanley Cup playoff upset of the Detroit Red Wings with the winning goal in Game 7, revealed to The Athletic's Katie Strang in March that he took multiple leaves of absence from the booth during the 2017-18 season, nearly ending his life as he struggled with his mental health. "I'm re-training my brain so I can live in this with gratitude, with radical gratitude, radical acceptance, compassion, kindness," Baker said as part of NBC Sports' documentary "HEADSTRONG: Mental Health and Sports." "I don't have the impulsiveness I used to.
