The Atlanta Braves got home runs from Ozzie Albies and Josh Donaldson for the second straight night and received another strong effort from starting pitcher Julio Teheran in a 5-4 win over the visiting Washington Nationals on Saturday. Atlanta used solo homers from Albies, Donaldson and Matt Joyce and a two-run homer from Brian McCann in winning its season-best ninth straight game, the third straight against the Nationals. Minnesota Twins pitcher Michael Pineda was suspended for 60 games on Saturday for taking a diuretic, a big blow to the rotation of a first-place team heading toward the postseason. Major League Baseball said Pineda tested positive for the banned substance and the penalty takes effect immediately. RFK Stadium, the former home of the NFL's Washington Redskins, Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals and Senators, and Major League Soccer's D.C. United, will be demolished by 2021, local officials in Washington said. Events DC, the city agency that manages the stadium, began soliciting bids on Thursday for the demolition of the vacant, deteriorating structure, which opened in 1961 as D.C. Stadium and was renamed in 1969 for Robert F. Kennedy the year after he was assassinated. RFK was among the first of a wave of multi-purpose stadiums built in the 1960s but was most closely associated with the Redskins, where fans created a raucous, intimidating atmosphere to support teams that won three Super Bowls in the 1980s and '90s. The high-flying ski and snowboarding event will be held Dec. 20-21 at SunTrust Park, bringing some of the top athletes from the United States and around the world to compete off a 15-story-tall tower that will be built in the center of the 41,000-seat baseball stadium. The Braves joined the U.S. Ski & Snowboard federation in making the announcement Thursday from the plaza beyond the center-field seats, shortly before the start of Atlanta's game against the Washington Nationals. ''Coming to Atlanta, Georgia is a gigantic ski jump,'' said Derek Schiller, president and CEO of the Braves. Continue to Article

Zimmerman tattooed a two-run dinger -- his fourth big fly of the season -- off Marlins' lefty Caleb Smith in the sixth inning and teammate Yan Gomes followed with a solo shot of his own as the Nationals went back-to-back in the frame. The 34-year-old veteran first baseman missed the last six weeks due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. SP Patrick Corbin yielded three runs over six innings Sunday. Continue to Article
